On behalf of Jane, the rest of this post will be in English.
As said, my 2016 edition of favorite learning tools differs from my top 10 of last year. This year, Jane will generate three sub-lists:

  • Top 100 Tools for Education – for use in schools, colleges, universities
  • Top 100 Tools for Workplace Learning – for use in training, for performance support, social collaboration, etc
  • Top 100 Tools for Personal & Professional Learning – for self-organised learning

Previously I focussed on learning tools for self-organised learning. Now I will describe more favorite tools I use for workshops and webinars (part of Workplace Learning).

By the way: a learning tool is any software or online tool or service that you use either for your own personal or professional learning or for teaching or training (definition Jane and I agree). A learning tool can be specifically be developed for learning, training or education. But it can also refer to tools that can be used for learning, training or education, although they are not specifically developed for these purposes (e.g. Twitter).

  1. WordPress
I use WordPress about six years to blog. My weblog is my most important learning tool. I blog to process what I see and read, to reflect, to share knowledge and as an archive.
    Purpose: Personal & Professional Learning
  2. Inoreader
When Google stopped the provision of Google Reader, I experimented with several alternative RSS readers. Soon, Inoreader became my new gateway to a large amount of weblogs. Last year I added some Twitter-lists to this feed reader. I use Inoreader of my iPhone, iPad and MacBook. It is easy to share items of save items in Pocket.
    Purpose: Personal & Professional Learning
  3. Pocket
Previously known als Read It Later. I use it to save blogposts and online articles. I read them on my iPad an Macbook (often input for blog posts). I also have the opportunity to tweet, mail or save them to Diigo or Evernote.
    Purpose: Personal & Professional Learning
  4. Scoop-it
Great tool if you want to share your insights without writing extensive blogposts. I scoop about technology enhanced learning. I think it’s important not only to share links, but also short personal reflections.
    Purpose: Personal & Professional Learning
  5. Franz
This is a new kid on the block. Franz is a free messaging app that combines chat & messaging services into one application. I have combined WhatsApp, Slack, Skype, Twitter, Facebook Messenger and Telegram in Franz. I use it on my MacBook and it helps me to review received messages and to send messages in different messaging services, in a very efficient way.
    Purpose: Personal & Professional Learning
  6. Mentimeter
I use Mentimeter (pro-version) during workshops and presentations for activating previous knowledge, to identify beliefs or opinions, or to start discussions. Very easy to use. Mentimeter has different types of questions, and it enables you reuse events. It can be used with large groups as well.
    Purpose: Workplace Learning (training)
  7. Google Forms
I use Google Forms to identify opinions of participants in workshops, to evaluate workshops and to assess learning technologies and e-learning modules (e.g. during workshops).
    Purpose: Workplace Learning (training)
  8. Vitero
Vitero stands for ‘virtual team room’. It is a powerful application for synchronic online learning activities like virtual meetings, virtual classroom sessions or webinars. Vitero has interesting interaction possibilities and pedagogical features. For example: you can see when a participant is using a different application on it’s device ;-). Participants might have to install vitero.exe or vitero.dmg to attend sessions, or they have to be able to run the application.
    Purpose: Workplace Learning (training)
  9. Padlet
Padlet is an easy to use digital corkboard. You can use it to activate prior knowledge, to brainstorm or to share ideas of participants. You can save and share the outcomes.
    Purpose: Workplace Learning (training)
  10. Todaysmeet
You can use Todaysmeet as a back channel during sessions. I use it to share resources. For example links tot Google documents or Google Forms that are used for assignments during workshops.
    Purpose: Workplace Learning (training)
